Introduction to Placement

A2: Placement Guide

What is a Placement?

A “placement” refers to a specific space or location on a platform where advertisements are displayed.
Placements are crucial for managing ad inventory and connecting campaigns with appropriate display areas.
By configuring placements correctly, advertisers can maximize campaign performance, while retailers can ensure that ads align with their website or app’s design and functionality.

Creating a Placement

When creating a placement, you can configure various settings to define how ads will be displayed and how users will interact with them.

Basic Settings

  1. Name: Enter the name of the placement.
  2. Description: Provide a description for the placement.
  3. Allowed Creative Types: Select the types of creatives that can be displayed in this placement:
    • Display, Video, Native
    • You can select multiple creative types simultaneously.
    • For more details on creative types, refer to the Creative Guide.

Once the placement is created, its ID will be displayed in the Basic Information section.
This ID is used when sending ad requests.

Detailed Settings

  1. Responsiveness: Define how the placement adapts to different screen sizes:
    • Fixed Size Display: The ad maintains a fixed size regardless of screen dimensions.
    • Resized Display: The ad dynamically resizes based on the screen size for a responsive layout.
  2. Display Size: Choose or customize the size of the placement.
    • Use pre-defined templates to streamline the setup process and maintain consistent formatting.
  3. Billing: Configure the billing method for the placement:
    • Algorithm-based Billing: Charges are calculated based on algorithms such as CPM or CPC.
    • None: No billing is applied for this placement.
  4. Publication Approval Method: Select how campaigns are approved for this placement:
    • Delegate to Advertiser: Campaigns can be displayed without approval from the placement manager if the advertiser has the required permissions.
    • Placement Manager Approval: Campaigns require review and approval by the retailer before being displayed.
